by Wilhelm Ritter von Hertz, Dr. (1835 - 1902)

Blick' ich in dein braunes Auge
Language: German (Deutsch)
Blick' ich in dein braunes Auge,
In die dunkle Märchenwelt,
Wird von seltsam süßem Grauen
Mir oft leis das Herz geschwellt.
Ward dir nie die schaur'ge Kunde
Von den stillen Geisterseen?
Wo den lustgelockten Wandrer
Niederzieh'n die Wasserfeen.

Blick' ich in Dein braunes Auge,
Lockt's mich wie ein Zaubersee,
Todessehnsucht zieht mich nieder,
Und mir wird so geisterweh.
Schweigend senk' ich dann die Stirne
Ahnungsvoll in Furcht und Schmerz, --
Und Du küßest ängstlich fragend
Mir das traumbewegte Herz.
