De regen ruischt

De regen ruischt in zomernacht,
ik ben zoo stil, zoo stil en zacht,
omdat ik leed.
 
Ik luister naar den regentik,
hoor tik-tik-tik elk oogenblik
en ik vergeet....
 
Vergeet al wat ik leed en dacht
zoo menig stillen zomernacht,
heel lang geleên.
 
Nu zingt een teere stem in mij,
het is voorbij, het is voorbij,
voor eeuwig heen....
 
De regen ruischt, ik luister weer,
de regen suist al zingend neer
in drop bij drop,
 
Hef, eenzaam kind, na langen nacht
van stil verdriet en doffe klacht
uw hoofd weer op!
