Und spring' auch nicht in einen See 
Vor lauter Gram und Pein. 
Viel besser ist für Liebesweh 
Als schnödes Wasser der Wein. 

Geschwind die [Kanne]¹ herab vom Brett! 
Schau, golden rinnt's vom Spund. 
Dein Leid ist tiefer nicht, ich wett', 
Als deines Bechers Grund.
