Svola
Language: Norwegian (Nynorsk)
Eg visste kje av,
det var vorte Vaar,
--eg visste kje av det,
fyrr her igaar.
      Det var som eg inkje
      sku gaatt eingong,
      at Lauvet spratt,
      og at Fuglen song.
Eg gjekk her og kava
og gnog med mitt;
for det er no so,
at kvar ein hev sitt.
      Eg keik berre inn,
      eg saag inkje ut,
      -- eg øygna kje anna
      enn Skodda og Sut.
Daa log det i Lufti
so god ein Laatt
og spela ein liten
forlivande Slaatt.
      Kvaslag? -- jau sosant
      er det Svola, som kved!
      Men daa er det Vaaren
      og Sumaren med!
Det var som eg vektest
av Mare-Rid.
Og Graset var grønt,
og Soli var blid,
      og Lauvskogen anga,
      der ny han stod,
      og Fuglen var glad,
      og Gud han var god.
-- Og Svola er Gjenta
so fin og so fjaag.
Og lovar ho Sumar,
so held ho det og.
      For endaa so vida
      ho svintar og sviv,
      er Sumar i Nordheimen
      Svola sitt Liv.
