Où d'un beau ciel la flamme inonde
Un sol riant toujours en feux
Où sans rêver on est heureux.

Mon Orient, mon espérance,
Que j'aime ton désert immense,
Tes oasis et tes houris
Et tes parfums du Paradis.

Près des palais cachés dans l'ombre
Je sais de hauts palmiers sans nombre
Où l'air brûlant la nuit le jour
Porte et redit des mots d'amour.

Je crois te voir, plaine ondoyante,
Où le plaisir partout serpente,
Plaine sans fin, plaine aux flots d'or
Où chaque fleur est un trésor.
