Vous avez deviné, oui,
je suis espagnole de naissance et de cœur,
et tout mon être a froid sous ce ciel monotone:
La grisaille du temps ternit même son rire
et je sens des nuages passer sur ma gaîté.

Comme une feur de serre, j’ai besoin de chaleur
pour m’épanouir toute et réjouir les sens,
vous m’avez regardée: j’ai senti sur mon cœur
comme un peu de soleil qui viendrait de là-bas!...
Beau pays du divin soleil,

pays des feurs étrangères, pays des fruits savoureux,
pays des sérénades, des parfums violents,
des danses langoureuses, vrai paradis d’amour!...
