Herr! schauen auf uns nieder,
dir tönen unsre Lieder,
des Herzens Lust bist du!
ach dich zum Freunde haben,
ist mehr denn alle Gaben,
ist ew'ges Leben, seel'ge Ruh!

Du stillest das Verlangen,
und an dir wir hangen,
so fehlt dem Leben nichts.
In deiner Gottesklarheit
seh'n wir die ew'ge Wahrheit,
du leuchtest in uns, Quell des Lichts!

Von deinem Arm gehalten,
kann keiner der Gewalten
der Welt uns dir entziehn!
Wir ruhn an deinem Herzen,
sind dein in Freud und Schmerzen,
o möchten zu dir alle fliehn.

Herralle
Language: Finnish (Suomi)  after the German (Deutsch)
Herra, katso meidän puoleemme,
sinulle soivat laulumme,
sinä tuot ilon sydämiimme!
Se, että sinä olet ystävämme,
on enemmän kuin kaikki aarteet,
se on iankaikkinen elämä, sielun rauha.

Sinä täytät meidän tarpeemme,
ja kun me pysymme sinussa,
ei meiltä mitään puutu elämässämme.
Sinun jumalallisessa kirkkaudessasi
me näemme iankaikkisen totuuden,
sinä kirkastat meidät, sinä valkeuden lähde!

Kun sinun käsivartesi suojelee meitä,
ei mikään mahti
maailmassa voi erottaa meitä sinusta!
Me saamme levätä sinun sylissäsi,
me olemme sinun ilossa ja surussa,
kunpa kaikki pakenisivat sinun turviisi.
