by Leonhard Widmer (1808 - 1868)

Es git e schön's Aelpli
Language: Swiss German (Schwizerdütsch)
  Es git e schön's Aelpli,
Da möcht i gern sy
Da luegt all's so fründli,
So heimelig dry.
Versteckt i de Berge,
Uf Matte, am Bach,
Da staht e blanks Hüsli
Mit niedrigem Dach.

  Im Gärtli danebe
Schlüft's Rösli grad us;
Doch ist's nüd das Blüemli,
Das überall z'Hus.
Und wenn is wollt pflücke,
So blieb's nüd im Thal;
Es blüht nu da oben
Im himmlische Strahl.

  So ist's mit Lieb-Rösli
Im Hüttli da drinn,
Sie hät nu für d'Alpe
Und Sennbuebe Sinn.
Und ist au das Hüsli
Gar ärmli und chly:
Es chönnt i Palläste
Halt glückli nüd sy!
