O, nie wierz
Language: Polish (Polski)
Our translations:  ENG GER
O, nie wierz temu, co powiedzą ludzie,
Że krótkotrwały jest cierpienia dzień,
Że wszystko w ciągłych walk przemija trudzie,
Przechodzi zwolna, znika niby cień.

Jak ciche wody, straszne swą głębiną
Tak wielką głębią cichy serca ból;
Żywota wszystkie rozkosze przeminą,
On rządzić będzie wszechwładnie jak król!

Oh, don't believe
Language: English  after the Polish (Polski)
Oh, don't believe what people say,
That a day of suffering lasts a short time,
That everything passes in hardship of permanent struggle
Passes slowly, disappears like shadow.

Like silent waters, terrifying with their depth,
So huge is the depth of the heart's silent pain;
All the pleasures of life will be gone,
Pain will reign omnipotent like a king.
