La princesa cautiva

Había un castillo, con una princesa. 
Tan pálida siempre como las estrellas.
Su padre guardaba con siete cerrojos, 
porque ningún hombre la busque amoroso.
La niña no tiene con qué divertirse, 
ni sabe de cuentos de magos y cisnes.
El rey ha partido hacia la frontera 
con sus cien jinetes para hacer la guerra.
Al fin de esta lucha han de ser tus bodas, 
esposo elegido: tu primo don Opas.
No sumes, princesa, los días que faltan 
pues ha de cumplirse lo que el Rey te manda.
Que tu prometido es gordo y es feo; 
ya se ha visto eso hasta en el tebeo.
A la puerta llaman; “ve quién es, nodriza”. 
“Es un caballero, ay! señora mía!
Es un caballero que viene de Roma 
porque a vos princes, quiere por esposa.
Ya sin conoceros ha venido a amaros, 
¡que bello camino haréis a su lado!
Sonríe, princesa, mientras vas huyendo,
que todo en la vida tiene color nuevo.
