Thau und Thräne

Zur Thräne sprach der Thau voll Hohn:
"Du bist die Tochter irdischer Qual,
Nicht gleichst Du mir, des Himmels Sohn,
Dem Kinde der Luft, der Blumen Gemahl."

"Geboren vom Leid," sprach die Thräne darauf,
"Dring' aus der Menschen Aug' ich hervor,
Vom Himmel zur Erde geht Dein Lauf,
Ich steig' von der Erde zum Himmel empor."
