by Carl Alexander Simon (1805 - 1852), as Carl Alexander

Erste Nacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mond, du hast ein finst'res Bräutchen,
trübes Auge, schwarzes Kleidchen,
stumm und ohne Glanz.
Dennoch leuchten deine Söhne,
Sternlein hold in holder Schöne,
tanzen lust'gen Tanz.

Ach, ich hab' ein fröhlich Liebchen,
rote Wange, üppig Grübchen,
glänzt wie Mondesschein.
Doch die Kinder meiner Liebe
sehen wie ihr Vater trübe,
heißen Gram und Pein!

Bleicher Freund, wir können tauschen:
Nacht und Trän' und heimlich Lauschen
sei nun meine Braut.
Sei Lindore nun dein Liebchen,
schleich' und seufze um ihr Stübchen
bis der Morgen taut.
