by Karl Joseph Simrock (1802 - 1876)

Wenn der Duft der Mandelbäume
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn der Duft der Mandelbäume
Durch die Frühlingslüfte zieht,
Dann erklingen alle Träume
In ein selig Minnelied.

Denn die Lieb ist auferstanden
Aus dem Eis und Nebelflor:
Jung und frisch und frei von Banden
Dringt sie an das Licht hervor.

Soll sie schlummern bis die Rose
Wonne duftet in das Herz?
Nein, es wecket ihr Gekose
Schon der erste Tag im März.

Schon der Duft der süßen Mandel
Bringt der Liebe Wonnetraum
Und von nun an ohne Wandel
Heiße Sie der Liebe Baum.
