Der staar en Purle ved Vejens Sving
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Our translations:  FRE
Der staar en Purle ved Vejens Sving,
en Egeknast saa Forkrampet;
den Stakkel fik aldrig sin Marv i Ring,
og aldrig den blev til nogenting,
fordi den for tidlig blev trampet.
   For vi træder hverandre i Dyndet ned.

Ja Livets lovende Førsteknop
den ødtes grumt for de fleste;
thi raged ogsaa en enkelt op
med Jærn i Veddet, med Frugt i Top,
det blev dog kun Purl det meste.
   For vi træder hverandre i Dyndet ned.

Den argeste Ulv i Skovens Skjød
blev slikket engang af sin Moder.
Men du--hvad Svar mon din Haardhed bød,
hvis atter hin Røst af Himlen brød:
"Hvad har du gjort med din Broder?"
   For vi træder hverandre i Dyndet ned.

Det Barn, som vaagner af drømfyldt Blund,
den hele Sol vil han kræve;
men lad ham først kjæmpe en Livsens Stund,
da vil for at vinde en Straale kun
hans tryglende Læber bæve.
   For vi træder hverandre i Dyndet ned.
