by Vincenz Zusner (1803 - 1874)

Das Vergissmeinnicht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Das liebliche Vergißmeinnicht,
  Was sie mir scheidend gab,
Das läßt von seinem Farbenlicht
  Und Schimmer gar nicht ab.

Und wißt Ihr, wie das kommen mag,
Daß es nicht welken kann? --
Ich feucht das Blümchen jeden Tag
  Mit meinen Thränen an.

Confirmed with Gedichte, Wien: F. Beck's Universitäts-Buchhandlung, 1842, p. 93
