Dämmerung
Language: German (Deutsch) 
Im Dämmerlichte kommt es gegangen 
Und fasst meine Hände und streift meine Wangen, 
Und ich starre ihn sehnend ins Angesicht, 
Im blauen schleiernden Dämmerlicht. 

Es trägt auf mein Haupt einen welken Kranz 
Von Blüten, die ich mir selbst zertreten, 
Von Blättern, die mir im Sturme verwehten,
Und im Aug' einer rinnenden Thräne Glanz. 
Und es hebt die mächtigen blauen Schwingen, 
Und ich höre ein leises trauriges Singen. 

Ich fasse die bebenden Worte nicht, 
Gebrochene Töne hör' ich ziehen 
Aus längst verklungenen Melodieen  --  
Und langsam erstirbt das letzte Licht.
