Es singt die Nacht ein leises Lied, Von fern hab' ich's gehört: Es klang so mild, es klang so müd, Hat all mein Herz bethört. Still horchten die Waldvögelein, Die Wipfel rauschten sacht, Die Sterne gossen süßen Schein Ins leise Lied der Nacht.
