by Emanuel, Freiherr von Bodman (1874 - 1946)

Vor einem schlafenden Rosenstock
Language: German (Deutsch)
In wie starrer Einsamkeit
gehen meine Tage!
Heiße Lust und heißes Leid
klingt wie eine Sage.
Hüll mich in den Winterrock,
daß ich wärmer werde.
Hier der graue Rosenstock
kriecht auch in die Erde.

Ruhe tief! dein guter Saft
scheint er auch gestorben,
sammelt sich, die alte Kraft
ist bald neu erworben.
Und die Zeiten kommen,
wo Rosen auf dir blühen,
und mein kaltes Herz wird so
in den Frühling glühen.
