by Karl Gottfried Theodor Winkler (1775 - 1856), as Theodor Hell

Lied aus dem Schauspiel "Ali Baba"
Language: German (Deutsch)
„Im Mondenschein, fein's Liebchen,
da öffne mir dein Stübchen
und lass ins Haus mich ein;
gar freundlich lässt sich's schwätzen,
gar traulich lässt sich's letzen
im Mondenschein.“

So sprach Osmin noch heute
und malte mir die Freude
gar wunderlieb und fein;
ich aber, viel gescheiter,
sprach: „Geht ein Haus nur weiter
im Mondenschein!

Das meine bleibt verschlossen;
es soll die Nacht voll Possen
und niemands Freundin sein.
Was nicht der Tag darf sehen,
soll man auch nicht begehen
im Mondenschein.“
