Wie die Welt so weit

Wie die Welt so weit, wie so frei die Brust,
und im Herzen ein Lied voll Glück und voll Lust.
Und ich lass' es fröhlich erklingen.
Es winken die Blumen im Feld und im Hain:
Grüß' Gott dich, Geselle, so muss es sein,
wenn man will singen, ja singen.

Mein ist die Sonne mit all ihrem Gold,
und ein Mädel mir treu, das so lieb und so hold;
was könnte man Schön'res erringen?
Den Himmel im Herzen, mein Mädel im Sinn,
o wie ich so glücklich, so selig bin!
Und ich will's singen, ja singen!
