by Karoline (or Caroline) Wilhelmine Leonhardt (1811 - 1899), as Karoline Leonhardt-Lyser

Meine Sterne
Language: German (Deutsch)
Am Himmel strahlen Sterne,
Zwei Sterne auch in Dir,
Die Himmelssterne Allen,
Die andern einzig mir.

Du hast so liebe Augen,
Sie sind mir d'rum so lieb,
Weil Deine ganze Seele
In Deinen Augen blieb!

In diese lieben Augen,
Da schau' ich, ach, so gern!
Das eine ist mein Morgen- ,
Das zweit' mein Abendstern!

O funkelt, holde Sterne,
Mir stets in milder Pracht,
Seid ihr für mich erloschen,
Ist um mich ew'ge Nacht!

Confirmed with Der Humorist, sechster Jahrgang, ed. by Moritz Gottlieb Saphir, Wien: Leopold Grund, 1842. Appears in issue no. 213 (October 26, 1842), page 858.
