Sei willkommen, Frau Sommerzeit, sei willkommen, Herr Maie! Wonne bringt ihr weit und breit und die Lieb' ihr zweie! Aus den Knospen seh' ich rings Liebchens Bild nur springen, und die Vögleich rechts und links hör' von ihr ich singen. Lächelnd zieht von Haus zu Haus Mai mit seinem Krame, auf die Heide streut er aus Blumen wundersame, blau und gelb und rot und grün, über Nacht entsprungen, und die Lieb' in all dem Blüh'n macht mein Herze jungen.
