Tidselhøsten tegner godt
og Nælder staar i Stak.
Rugen er kun saa som saa
og Hveden ligger brak.
 
Nag og Nid er vel ved Magt,
har Kraft til Overflod.
Venskab har en vissen Haand,
og en forstuvet Fod.
 
Bulmeurt og Svinemælk
de blomstrer bredt og vidt,
Liljens høje Stilk er brudt
og Rosen ormebidt.

Lavsind bor paa Højens Top
i Ægteskab med Skam.
Højsind bor i Kældervraa,
hvis du kan finde ham.
 
Mug og Skimmel lever højt
og Svampene gaar frem.
Husets Mure staar for Fald,
hvem bryder sig om dem?
 
Had og Last gør hver Dag Fest
hos Høj saa vel som Lav,
Kærlighed gik hen igaar
og grov sin egen Grav.

La récolte de chardons s'annonce bonne
et les orties s'entassent en meules.
Pour le seigle, c'est couci-couça
et le le froment est en friche.

Rancune et envie sont bien puissantes
et ont surabondance de force.
L'amitié a une main sèche
et un pied tordu.

Jusquiame et laiteron
fleurissent en abondance
la haute tige du lis est brisée
et la rose rongée par les vers.

La bassesse habite les sommets
en compagnie de l'ignominie.
La vertu habite au fond des caves,
quand on peut la trouver.

Moisissure et pourriture vont bien
et les champignons avancent.
Les murs des maisons menacent de s'écrouler,
mais qui s'en soucie ?

C'est tous les jours la fête de la haine et du vice,
chez les grands comme chez les petites gens,
L'amour est parti hier
pour creuser sa propre tombe.
