by Julius Becker (1811 - 1859)

Der Liebesbrief
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wollt' einmal dem Liebchen schreiben,
Hatte gleich kein Briefpapier.
Dacht' ich: gut! -- da läßt du's bleiben --
Gehst gleich lieber selbst zu ihr!

So groß war meine Eile,
Daß ich selbst als Liebesbrief
Manche liebe lange Meile
Nach dem fernen Liebchen lief.

Und sie las den Brief geschwinde,
Küßt' und herzt' ihn tausendmal!
Doch ich gab dem holden Kinde
Küsse wieder ohne Zahl.
