   Wie Engelsang
   Tönt mir im Herzen fort
   Sein holder Klang,
Ach, nie [genug hör' ich's]1 mein Leben lang!
   O sag' es noch ein Mal -- und küsse mich --
Das eine traute Wort: Ich lieb', ich liebe dich!

   O sag' es noch ein Mal,
   Noch tausend, tausend Mal,
Wie macht [dieß]2 Wort mich glücklich doch! 
   So wonnig lacht,
   So schön wie niemals noch 
   Im Nu entfacht,
Ob seinem Klange mir des Frühlings Pracht!
   O sag' es noch ein Mal -- und küsse mich --
Das eine traute Wort: Ich lieb', ich liebe dich!
