2. Nur das thut mir so bitter weh  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Nur das tut mir so bitterweh',
Daß Niemand mir von ihm erzählt,
Ob ich ihn je nur wiederseh',
Und ob er glücklich hab' gewählt.

Ich möcht' nur einmal noch ihn sehn,
Und zög' er auch an mir vorbei,
Wollt' ungesehn am Fenster stehn,
Nur schauen, ob er glücklich sei!

Text Authorship:

  • by Oscar von Redwitz-Schmölz (1823 - 1891), appears in Amaranth, in Amaranth's Herbsteslieder, first published 1849
