Die fernen, fernen Berge 
mit ihren Nebelschleiern
seh' ich von meinem Fenster 
leuchten im Frühlingsglanz.

Ein matter, grüner Schimmer 
über [Buschen]1 und Bäumen,
und meine arme Seele, 
zitternd von Frühlingsleid.

[Könnt']2 ich nur einmal schauen,
nur einmal noch deine Augen
jene [müden]3, blauen Sterne,
