Unter einem Fliederstrauche,
leis umkühlt vom Abendhauche,
bin ich müd und schlummertrunken
wie ein Kind in Schlaf gesunken.

Von dem blauen Himmelsbogen
kommt ein Sonnenstrahl geflogen,
weckt mit seinem ros'gen Lichte 
Rosen mir im Angesichte.

Duft'ge Blüten streut der Flieder
mir auf Wang' und Stirne nieder -
Strahl des Lichts und Duft der Bäume
wiegen mich in süße Träume.
