Tule aamuhun hymyilevään, tule tuoksuun syreenein! Ens' kukkasista kevään ens' seppeleen ma tein. Kevätlintujen laulussa helää kaikk' elämän ihanuus. On sille, ken varjossa elää, joka suvi ihme uus. Kuin nuotiossa hiilet on nousu aamunkoin. Se valaa kirkontornin tiilet hehkuvin purpuroin. Suvi kukkien loiston lupaa ja kypsät hedelmät. Taas rakennan toivon tupaa, unet vanhat heräävät. Tätä aamua odotin armain, yöt monet unettomat, sadekuurot kun pilvin harmain ohi kiitäen kulkivat. Nyt loistavan sen nään tuolla suven suurin toivehin. Tänä aamuna tahtoisin kuolla sun syliis', armahin.
