Tre sanger = Three songs , opus 13

by Erkki Gustaf Melartin (1875 - 1937)

1. O, Herre
 (Sung text)

Language: Norwegian (Bokmål)
O, Herre, jeg er meget træt,
o, Herre, skjænk mig hvile!
Min sjæl er tung af megen sorg,
min fod af mange mile.

Min fod har traadt mangt mødigt steg
for glæden mig at finde.
Og jeg har set al jordens pragt,
men glæden ingensinde.

 ...

Jeg ønsker, jeg var barn igjen
og saa min moder smilte.
O, Herre, jeg er meget træt!
O, Herre, skjænk mig hvile!

  • by Vilhelm Krag (1871 - 1933), "O, Herre", appears in Nye Digte, in Sange om natten, no. 3, first published 1897

3. Afsked
 (Sung text)

Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Nu visner Skoven atter,
nu falder det døende Løv,
Og al Naturen forvandles
til Grafvens kolde Støv.

Jeg maatte dig forlade,
skjønt Døden hos dig sad;
Jeg var den flyende Sommer,
og du, og du var det visnende Blad.

Text Authorship:

  • possibly by Erkki Gustaf Melartin (1875 - 1937)

Based on:
