Kaum prangen Busch und Baum im Blust,
Steht auch mein Herz in Blüthe.

Mein Herz ist wie ein grüner Hag,
Das ist ein Zwitschern und Schallen...
Da nisten die lustigen Finken am Tag
Und Abends die Nachtigallen.

Märzveilchen [blühen]1, [es treibt in den Bäumen]2,
Der Frühling kam;
Es zwitschern die [Vögel]3, [die Wipfel rauschen]2
So wundersam;
[O Schöpfungsodem, der die Brust mir
Bezaubert und feit!
O Frieden, o Ruh', komm' über mich!
Wie lieb' ich dich, lieb' ich dich,
   Waldeinsamkeit!]2

[Feierlich sonntägliche Stille
Und Frühlingszeit;
Kein Laut, keine Seele]4
Weit und breit!
