Je fatigue les bois, les prés et les fontaines
  Du triste récit de mes maux :
Mais les échos, les bois, les prés et les ruisseaux, 
  Ne peuvent soulager mes peines. 

Sur les gazons fleuris, à l'ombrage des chênes, 
  Je ne trouve plus le repos ; 
Je gémis, le ramier joint ses plaintes aux miennes, 
  Mes larmes troublent les ruisseaux :
