7. Mailied eines Mädchens  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
   Seht den Himmel, wie heiter!
   Laub und Blumen und Kräuter
   Schmücken Felder und Hain;
   Balsam athmen die Weste;
   Und im schattigen Neste
Girren brütende Vögelein

   Über grünliche Kiesel
   Rollt der Quelle Geriesel
   Purpurblinkenden Schaum;
  Und die Nachtigall flötet'
   Und vom Abend geröhtet
Wankt im spiegelnd Bach der Baum.

   Kommt, Gespielen, und springet,
   Wie die Nachtigall singet;
   Denn sie singet zum Tanz!
   O geschwinder, geschwinder!
   Rund herum, wie die Kinder:
Ringel Ringelein Rosenkranz!

   Alles tanzet vor Freude:
   Dort das Reh in der Heide,
   Hier das Lämmchen im Thal;
   Vögel hier im Gebüsche,
   Dort im Teiche die Fische,
Tausend Mücken im Sonnenstral.

   Ha! wie pochts mir so bange!
   Ha! wie glüht mir die Wange!
   Mädchen, bin ich nicht schön?
   Hüpf' ich doch, wie ein Kreisel,
   Daß mir unterm Gesäusel
Meines Kranzes die Locken wehn!
