Tunturilauluja I

by Yrjö Henrik Kilpinen (1892 - 1959)

1. Jänkä
 (Sung text)

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
On jänkä aava, jäinen,
on laiha lettosuo,
kuin silmä itkeväinen,
se maasta katseen luo.

Sen pohjamalmi surren
vain joskus helkähtää
ja niin kuin huulta purren
taas sitten vaiti jää.

Mun rintani on aivan
kuin jäinen jänkä tuo,
vain joskus vuoksi vaivan
sen malmi soinnun suo.

2. Tunturilähde
 (Sung text)

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Tunturilähde, kirkas ja syvä,
niinkuni lapsi kaino ja hyvä.
Tuutuna tumma kallion lovi,
hoivana hellä maaemon povi.
Lintujen laulu ainoa huvi,
valtias unten valkea suvi.
Tunturilähde, kirkas ja syvä.

3. Laululle
 (Sung text)

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Kuin tunturilla puro hiljaa helää
ja luopi kultatähkät pajurukkaan,
niin sinäkin, sä Laulu, saatat kukkaan
sen ihmismielen, jossa kaiho elää.

Ja siksi kiitän sua, Laulu hento:
sä siunaat kaihonkukin elämäni,
sä helkyt silloinkin, kun edessäni
on syksy, jolloin uupuu verten lento.

4. Tunturille
 (Sung text)

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Tunturille mennä tahdon,
sinne mieli halaa,
siellä tuuli tuivertaapi,
päivän lieska palaa.

Tunturille mennä täytyy
sinne vetää veri.
Siellä soivat taaton virret,
poika jotka peri.

Tunturille mennä tahdon,
tahdon korkealle.
Sieltä katson niinkuin kotka
kauas maailmalle.
