Jänkä
Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Available translation(s): GER
On jänkä aava, jäinen,
on laiha lettosuo,
kuin silmä itkeväinen,
se maasta katseen luo.
Sen pohjamalmi surren
vain joskus helkähtää
ja niin kuin huulta purren
taas sitten vaiti jää.
Mun rintani on aivan
kuin jäinen jänkä tuo,
vain joskus vuoksi vaivan
sen malmi soinnun suo.

Tundra
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Finnish (Suomi)
Ein Tundra eisgefroren,
ein magrer, magrer Sumpf,
wie Äuglein, voll von Thränen,
schaut er empor.
Sein Erz tief unter der Fläche
klingt nur selten und traurig
und wie sich auf Lippen beissend
bleibt es wieder stumm.
Eisgefroren ist auch mein Herz,
genau wie das Tundra da.
Nur selten und mühsam
klingt sein Erz mit einem wackern Schall.
