Da jeg var ung

Song Cycle by Orla Albert Vilhelm Rosenhoff (1845 - 1905)

2. Der bygger en venlig Svale  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: Danish (Dansk)
Der bygger en venlig Svale
Paa Hendes Vindves Karm;
Forstod jeg dog dens Tale
Og Sangen fra dens Barm!

Forstod jeg dog dens Qvidder
Der inderlige Sprog,
Den taler, mens den sidder
Og seer saa skjelmsk og klog! —

For Hendes Vindve skyder
En Rosenstok sig op;
Ud gjennem Løvet bryder
Rødmende Knop ved Knop.

Den stille Blomsterranke
Stirrer ad Ruden ind:
O, vidste jeg dens Tanke!
O, kjendte jeg dens Sind! —

Og Solens stærke Øie
Og Maanens blide Blik
Saa ofte fra det Høie
Derind til Hende gik.

De lykkelige Trende
I Forhør jeg gjerne tog;
Men ak! jeg maatte da kjende
Tre nye levende Sprog!
