Ihre Glöckchen hört' ich läuten.
 
Ihre weißen Rößlein trugen
Güldnes Hirschgeweih und flogen
Rasch dahin; wie wilde Schwäne
Kam es durch die Luft gezogen.
 
Lächelnd nickte mir die Königin,
Lächelnd im Vorüberreiten.
Galt das meiner neuen Liebe,
Oder soll es Tod bedeuten?

Al bosc, a la llum de la lluna,
fa poc vaig veure cavalcar els elfs;
vaig sentir llurs corns ressonar
i dringar llurs cascavells.

Llurs petits cavalls blancs portaven
daurades banyes de cérvol i volaven
rabent enllà, com cignes salvatges
passant a través de l’aire.

Somrient, la reina em va fer signe,
somrient, tot passant a cavall.
Volia això dir un novell amor,
o potser un presagi de mort?
