Als über den Flieder das Mondlicht rann,
Da steckt' er mir heimlich ein Ringlein an,
Und küßte den Ring und die Hand dazu
Und lauschte selig dem ersten "Du".

Das Mondenlicht sah in den Ring hinein,
Das gab einen fröhlichen, hellen Schein,
Der Fliederbaum neigte die Blüten stumm,
Die Gräser raunten: "Das Glück geht um!"

1. L’anell de prometatge

Quan la llum de la lluna corria damunt els lilàs,
ell em posà furtivament un petit anell,
i besà l’anell i, a més a més, la mà
i escoltà feliç el primer “Tu”.

La llum de la lluna penetrà dins de l’anell
i donà un clar i joiós reflex,
silent, el lilà vinclà les seves flors,
l’herbam mormolà: “La felicitat corre pel voltant!”

War ich gar so jung und dumm,
Wollte gerne wissen:
"Warum ist mein Mund so roth?"
Sprach der Mai:
             "Zum Küssen."

Als der Nebel schlich durch's Land,
Hab' ich fragen müssen:
"Warum ist mein Mund so blaß?"
Sprach der Herbst:
             "Vom Küssen."

La tardor digué:
                               “De besar.”
