Meine Ruh' ist hin, Mein Herz ist schwer; Ich finde sie nimmer Und nimmermehr. Wo ich ihn nicht hab' Ist mir das Grab, Die ganze Welt Ist mir vergällt. Mein armer Kopf Ist mir verrückt, Mein armer Sinn Ist mir zerstückt. Meine Ruh' ist hin, Mein Herz ist [schwer; Ich finde sie nimmer Und nimmermehr.]1 Nach ihm nur [schau']2 ich Zum Fenster hinaus, Nach ihm nur geh' ich Aus dem Haus. Sein hoher Gang, [Sein']3 edle Gestalt, Seines Mundes Lächeln, Seiner Augen Gewalt, Und seiner Rede Zauberfluß, Sein Händedruck, Und ach sein Kuß! Només per veure’l miro per la finestra, només per trobar-lo surto de casa. El seu galant caminar, el seu noble aspecte, el somriure dels seus llavis, la força del seu esguard, i el seu parlar encisador, el toc de la seva mà i ai, el seu besar! He perdut l’assossec, el meu cor és feixuc, no trobo la calma ni la trobaré mai més. El meu cor m’empeny al seu envers. Ai, si pogués tenir-lo i abraçar-lo, i besar-lo, tant com jo voldria, encara que dels seus besos hagués de morir!

Ach neige, Du Schmerzenreiche, Dein [Antlitz gnädig]1 meiner Noth! Das Schwert im Herzen, Mit tausend Schmerzen Blickst auf zu deines Sohnes Tod. [Zum Vater blickst du,]2 Und Seufzer schickst du Hinauf um sein' und deine Noth. Wer fühlet, Wie wühlet Der Schmerz mir im Gebein? Was mein armes Herz [hier banget]3, Was es zittert, was [verlanget]4, Weißt nur du, nur du allein! Wohin ich immer gehe, Wie [weh, wie weh]4, wie wehe Wird mir im Busen hier! Estic, ai, sola a penes, i ploro, ploro, ploro, se’m parteix el cor. Els testos de la meva finestra estaven arrosats per les meves llàgrimes, ai! quan de bon matí t’he portat aquestes flors.
