Catalan (Català) translations of Sechs Lieder, opus 4

by Walter Schulthess (1894 - 1971)

1. Nach dem Fest
 (Sung text)
by Walter Schulthess (1894 - 1971), "Nach dem Fest ", op. 4 (Sechs Lieder) no. 3, published 1919 [ voice and piano ]
Language: German (Deutsch)
Von der Tafel rinnt der Wein,
Alle Kerzen flackern trüber,
Wieder bin ich denn allein,
Wieder ist ein Fest vorüber.

Traurig lösch ich Licht um Licht
In den still gewordnen Räumen,
Nur der Wind im Garten spricht
Ängstlich mit den schwarzen Bäumen.

Ach, wenn dieser Trost nicht wär,
Müde Augen zuzumachen...!
Und ich fühle kein Begehr,
Jemals wieder aufzuwachen.

1. Després de la festa
Language: Catalan (Català)
El vi regalima de la taula,
totes les espelmes, tremolant, flamegen més somortes,
de nou torno a estar sol,
de nou s’ha acabat una festa.

Tristament, apago tots els llums
a les estances que ara són silencioses,
tan sols al jardí el vent parla
temorós amb els arbres negres.

Ai, si no tingués aquest reconfort
de tancar els meus cansats ulls...!
I no sento cap desig
de tornar mai més a despertar-me.

2. Beim Schlafengehen
 (Sung text)
by Walter Schulthess (1894 - 1971), "Beim Schlafengehen ", op. 4 (Sechs Lieder) no. 4, published 1919 [ voice and piano ]
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nun der Tag mich müd gemacht,
Soll mein sehnliches Verlangen
Freundlich die gestirnte Nacht
Wie ein müdes Kind empfangen.

Hände, laßt von allem Tun,
Stirn vergiß du alles Denken,
Alle meine Sinne nun
Wollen sich in Schlummer senken.

Und die Seele unbewacht
Will in freien Flügen schweben,
Um im Zauberkreis der Nacht
Tief und tausendfach zu leben.

2. A l'anar a dormir
Language: Catalan (Català)
A poc a poc el dia m'ha cansat,
caldria que el meu ardent anhel
acollís plàcidament la nit estelada
com un infant extenuat.

Mans, deixeu tot el treball,
enteniment, oblida tots els pensaments
en aquest moment, tots els meus sentits
volen enfonsar-se en un abaltiment.

I l'esperit, sense guarda,
vol volar amb ales de lliure albir,
de forma que, en el màgic cercle de la nit,
pugui viure intensament i eterna.
