Brilla la sala, les estances resplendeixen, hi ha estàtues de marbre que m’esguarden: què t’han fet, pobre criatura? La coneixes potser? Cap allí, cap allí amb tu m’agradaria anar, oh protector meu. Coneixes la muntanya i la seva passera ennuvolada? La mula hi cerca el seu camí; dins de coves viu la vella nissaga dels dracs; cau la roca i al seu damunt el devessall! La coneixes potser? Tiefe Stille herrscht im Wasser, Ohne Regung ruht das Meer, Und bekümmert sieht der Schiffer Glatte Fläche rings umher. Keine Luft von keiner Seite! Todesstille fürchterlich! In der ungeheuern Weite Reget keine Welle sich.
