Les violes ja somien,
volen sortir aviat.
Escolta, al lluny el so lleuger d’una arpa!
Primavera, sí, ets tu!

  Mir träumt', ich ruhte wieder
Vor meines Vaters Haus
Und schaute fröhlich nieder
Ins alte Thal hinaus,
Die Luft mit lindem Spielen
Ging durch das Frühlingslaub,
Und Blütenflocken fielen
Mir über Brust und Haupt.

  Als ich erwacht, da schimmert
Der Mond vom Waldesrand,
Im falben Scheine flimmert
Um mich ein fremdes Land,
Und wie ich ringsher sehe:
Die Flocken waren Eis,
Die Gegend war vom Schnee,
Mein Haar vom Alter weiß.

Somiava que estava de nou
davant la casa del meu pare
i joiós mirava cap baix
vers l’antiga vall,
l’aire, amb un toc suau,
jugava a través del fullatge primaveral,
i pètals de flors em queien com flocs
damunt el pit i el cap.

Quan em vaig despertar, la lluna
brillava al marge del bosc,
amb una llum falba, al meu entorn
pampalluguejava una terra estrangera
i al mirar al meu voltant:
els flocs eren de glaç,
la contrada era plena de neu,
els meus cabells emblanquinats per l’edat.
