Brüder, weihet Herz und Hand
Language: German (Deutsch)
  Brüder, weihet Herz und Hand
Freudig gern dem Vaterland!
Tausend Herzen, tausend Flammen
Lodern liebevoll zusammen,
Glüh'n, ein [einz'ger]1 Opferbrand,
Dir, [geliebtes]2 Vaterland!

  Ewig lod're, heil'ge Glut,
In [der freien Männer]3 Blut!
Mögen auch in Todesschmerzen
Brechen viele glüh'nde Herzen;
Wo ein heilig Licht [verglüht]4,
Stets ein neues Herz erblüht.

  Diese Glut in unsrer Brust
Ist der Schweizer höchste Lust,
Schirmt des Vaterlandes Rechte,
Haltet fern Tyrannenmächte,
Stählt der Männer tapfres Schwert,
Macht der heil'gen Freiheit werth!

  Darum, Brüder, Herz und Hand,
Weihet sie dem Vaterland!
Tausend Herzen, tausend Flammen
Lodern liebevoll zusammen,
Glüh'n, ein [einz'ger]1 Opferbrand,
Dir, [geliebtes]2 Vaterland!
