Verödet steht es droben,

vom Morgenrot gewoben
wird ihm sein Sonntagskleid.

Und wenn die Glocken klingen
im frischen Morgenhauch,
dann regt mit zarten Schwingen
sich dort ein Glöcklein auch.
Es weckt sein mildes Schallen
die Vorzeit wunderbar;
zum Kirchlein seh' ich wallen
