from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Mei Muater seaget's gern
Language: Bavarian (Boarisch)
Mei Muater seaget's1 gern:
I sollt a Geist'ler wer'n,
sollt' die Diandlan lâssen,
dâs war' ihr Begehrn.
Der Muater folg i nit,
ka Geist'ler wer'i nit,
und die Diandlan lâss i erst recht nit!
(Jodler): Holla holdia, juch holdio holdiaido, holladiado holladiado.

Und wânn die Sun'aufgeht,
und wânn der Halter blâst,
wânn der Kuku drausst in Wâld
sich hören lâsst,
da thuat's mir gâr so weh,
da thuat's mir gâr so ând,
denn i bin hâlt nit in Karntnerland!

Mein Diand'l is sakrisch2 fein,
dâs wass dâs gânze Lând,
drum g'hört's a nur mein,
sunst war's für mi a Schand,
i bin a fescher Bua,
i bin a Karntnerbua
und dâs is hâlt für a Diandle gnua!
