Heimwärts nach dem schönen Süden zieh'n, 
Glaube, daß sie jubelnd wiederkehren, 
Wenn im Lenz die ersten Rosen blüh'n.

Weine nicht, wenn Deine Blumen modern,   
Wenn der Frühling scheidet voll von Schmerz, 
Nach den ewig lichten Blumen oben, 
Nach den Sternen blicke himmelwärts! 

Zürne nicht, wenn Dir ein Traum gelogen, 
Wenn selbst Treue Dir bereitet Schmerz;
Halte fest im Glauben an die Menschheit  --  
Jede Wunde heilt ein liebend Herz.
