Dem blüht die ganze Welt,
Und wessen Herz in Treue glüht,
Um den ist's wohl bestellt!

Das Vögelein, das ja nur flattern kann
Und singen, sonst nichts mehr,
Hätt's Liebe nicht, wo nähm' es dann 
Die süßen Weisen her?

Und hätte die Blume nicht das Licht, 
Wie sollt' sie fröhlich blüh'n?
Und hätt' mein Herz die Liebe nicht,
Wie sollt' es selig glüh'n? --

Und wären nicht süße Thränen mein,
Was hätt' ich dann für Lust? 
So laßt mich einsam traurig sein --
Treu Leid liebt treue Brust.
