by August von Platen-Hallermünde (1796 - 1835)

Der Beschwingte
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ein Vogel bin ich worden
mit rüstigem Gefieder,
zu flattern auf und nieder,
nach Süden und nach Norden.

Von einem Ort zum andern
verlockt mich eitles Treiben;
es frommt mir nicht zu bleiben,
es frommt mir nicht zu wandern.

Doch könnt' ich dich ereilen
und deinen Stolz besiegen,
wie gerne wollt' ich fliegen,
und ach, wie gern verweilen!
