by Justinus (Andreas Christian) Kerner (1786 - 1862)

Im Mondlicht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du Mond, dem Tau und Quelle
Im Innern ganz gebricht,
Vertrockneter Geselle!
Gern weckst du Menschentränen,
Saugst sie mit deinem Licht.

Von mir kannst du nichts saugen:
Wie du, vertrocknet, alt,
Ist Quelle meiner Augen,
Ist meines Herzens Bronnen,
So alles tot und kalt.

Saug nur mit deinem Schimmer
Den Tau, der dir gebricht,
Aus andern Augen immer,
Mond, du Vampir der Tränen,
Die meinen weinen nicht.
