Noch liegt der Winter in der Stadt, Belagert die Häuser und Straßen, Doch draußen vor dem Thore hat Der Frühling Reveille geblasen. Plänkler schickt er in's Land hinaus, Es halten ihm Wache die Bäume, Hinter den Bäumen steht ein Haus, D'rin träumt er noch wonnige Träume. Blätterumrahmt und duftumhaucht, Frisch wie Thau am sonnigen Morgen, Rosig empor ein Köpfchen taucht, Von den Blumen neidisch verborgen.
